THE BEAUTIFUL NIGHTMARE OF LOVE AND HEARTACHE

IN A SERIES OF INTIMATE, PERSONAL INTERVIEWS, WE HEAR THE STORIES OF SIX WOMEN WHO ALL DATED THE SAME MAN OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS.

An artist in his mid-forties interviews several of his former partners in a futile attempt to understand where he’s failed — and occasionally succeeded — in love.

Their stories unfold into candid, philosophical conversations about love, sex, drugs, dating, and the human need for connection, set against the backdrop of springtime in Berlin.

Told primarily through dramatic improv, each woman speaks openly about her relationship with Alex. Their reflections form a broader portrait of modern dating — especially in Berlin.

CASTING CALL

We are currently casting all six female roles for this micro-budget feature film, aimed at international film festivals in late 2025 / early 2026.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Women from mid-20s to mid-50s, all ethnicities welcome

  • Fluent in English (does not need to be native)

  • Comfortable with dramatic improv and personal subject matter

  • Based in Berlin or able to travel here easily

Casting process:

  • Open Submissions are now being accepted

  • Self-tapes by invite accepted through mid-May 2025

  • In-person auditions at the end of May

  • Shooting in Berlin, primarily in June 2025

    KATYA (mid-20s)
    Eastern European immigrant looking for financial stability.

    SASKIA (28–35)
    German artist turned activist. Poly, queer, and emotionally mature.

    CAMILLE (33–40)
    Western European, middle class. After three years in Berlin, she’s broke and burned out — and ready to leave.

    STEFANIE (35–45)
    Raised in East Berlin. Now a tech middle manager with a nightlife and party habit.

    NICOLE (35–45)
    VP at a marketing firm. Divorced, a single mom, and deeply craving intimacy.

    LAURA (mid-40s)
    Runs a modestly successful art gallery. Appears conventional, but active in the local kink and sex-positive scenes.
